With the chance to qualify for the state meet on the line, the Central Coast Section's top cross country runners converged on the visually inspiring yet physically challenging 2.95-mile Crystal Springs course in Belmont on Saturday.

Eight Cougars earn postseason awards
Eight players from the Christopher High varsity field hockey team earned all-league awards following the 2011 season in which the Cougars finished third in the Mission Trail Athletic League – one win shy of making the postseason.
