State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Jack O’Connell, will address the Gilroy Rotary Club Jan. 29.
“This is a big deal,” said Rotarian Debbie Hoey. “We are very excited to have someone of his caliber speak at our club.”
The superintendent will be passing through the area and accepted the Rotary Club’s invitation to speak at their meeting. He will speak on the topic of No Child Left Behind and “The State of the State’s Education.” He is expected to give an overview of the entire state and more specifically, address the issues that affect Santa Clara County.
Gilroy Unified Superintendent Deborah Flores and the board of trustees have been invited to attend.
