Dear Editor,

I’m tired of reading all the pros and cons regarding how good or bad our school system is functioning. While I agree that our school systems needs are great, what I don’t understand is the failure rate of our middle class white, black and Latino students who cannot read, write or even balance a check book upon graduation.

How is it that foreign students such as Asians, Indians etc. come here and excel in the same schools that our home grown kids are failing in?

You don’t suppose it could be our culture where we are raising lazy, inconsiderate I-could-care-less kids. This only proves to me that the main problem is not with our school system but with how we prepare our kids for school and life in general.
