DEAR EDITOR:

Voters in the precinct I’ve been walking are overwhelmingly supportive of Measure B to support the Gilroy library. They may not be aware that our county library system has been voted #1 in the country, but they do know that they are getting a great value for their tax dollar. We certainly can’t afford any reduction in hours or services.

As a former member of the governing board of our county library system I can assure users that the the children’s computer terminals have Internet filters and the adult terminals allow each user to decide for themselves whether they want the Internet filtered. That is as it should be. No adult wants someone else deciding what they can read or see.Part of the reason the library has widespread support is because librarians are non-judgmental.

The best investment on our ballot is to renew the existing parcel tax for seven more years and nine more dollars. Please join me in voting YES on Measure B.
