PLEASANTON – “Taste of Harvest” returns to the Spring Harvest Gift and Food Festival in Pleasanton for an encore performance on this weekend.

Take a seat at the mirrored stage today through Sunday for cooking demonstrations presented by local chefs who share culinary tips and tastes as they create their favorite recipes, and stroll the aisles to sample delicious gourmet fare offered by culinary artists.

Amelia Ceja of Ceja Vineyards will grace the cooking stage Saturday at 2 and 3 p.m. Area chefs include Ty Turner, Executive Chef at Garré Vineyard in Livermore; Sedgie Davis, Executive Chef at Sunol Valley Country Club; and Executive Chef Neil Marquis of the Pleasanton Hotel. Diablo Valley College Chef/Instructor Paul Bernhardt will host demonstrations by outstanding students in the Culinary Arts Program.

Cooking demonstrations, featuring techniques and recipes are informative and entertaining. Chefs answer questions and offer up their concoctions for tasting. Demonstrations are ongoing throughout the three-day Festival.

Gourmet food producers present muffin mixes, salsas, marinades and sauces, honey, dips, cookies and confections, herbs and teas, dressings, vinaigrettes and other delicious fare.

Marie Huitt of Queen of the Valley Almonds brings almonds straight from her Chico farm, dry roasted in 21 flavors from chocolate to orange-honey. Marie, husband Terry, and brothers Victor and Richard also keep bees, harvesting honey from 5,000 hives on their farm and bringing the healthy nectar directly to Festival shoppers.

Add zest to your pantry or take home the prettily packaged treats for gourmet gifts. Whether you’re in the mood for organic, eclectic, or sweet and sinful – it’s all scrumptious at Taste of Harvest!
