A roundup of all of this past week’s action in the men’s EE, DD,
CCC and C rec softball leagues.
Team Beefy pushed across eight runs in the eighth inning to upset VFW Bingo 26-18 in Men’s EE League softball action Thursday at Las Animas Park.
VFW Bingo forced the extra inning by scoring four runs with two out in the bottom of the seventh stanza. Stephen Jeske and Art Olvera roped two-run doubles in the Bingo comeback.
Team Beefy responded with eight consecutive hits in the eighth, capped by a two-run home run from Bubba Castaneda. Dominic Pirozzoli and Jared Haygood provided two-run singles.
Jonathan Garcia, Bradley Kyle, Trevor Sheedy, Pirozzoli, Kyle and Haygood each garnered four hits for the winners. Jeske provided seven RBI with two homers and two doubles for VFW Bingo. Adam Kirkpatrick homered and Vinnie Randazzo each went 4-for-4 for the losers.
Ralph Flores went 4-for-4 with two home runs to guide the Borrachos past ConAgra 14-7. Albert Sanchez and Mark Cisneros each homered for the winners. Steven Dozal doubled and singled for ConAgra.
Brian Stelling and Rich Halverson each collected two hits and two RBI as the Good Ole Boys topped the Assassins 8-2. Scott Mead doubled twice and Joseph Perez went 2-for-2 for the Assassins.
Jaredd Reeve went 5-for-5 and scored five runs as Walton & Sons Masonry outlasted New Hope Community Church 27-17 in a battle of Men’s E League unbeatens Thursday at Christmas Hill Park.
Tyler Maslanka and Kurt Gitmed cracked home runs and Eric Wischman scored four runs for the 3-0 Waltons. Clark Poulsen powered four extra-base hits and Patrick Johnson homered for 2-1 New Hope.
Westside Grill is 2-0 after a 17-2 nod over Heinzen Manufacturing. Val Puntanilla and Fred Tovar each managed three hits for Westside. Rudi Groppe and Randy Garcia each tripled and singled for Heinzen.
Russell Emeterio went 5-for-6 to help Chippendale’s to a 22-15 win over South Valley Community Church Sons of Thunder. Adolfo Tellez and John Holder each stroked two triples in four-hit efforts for the Thunder.
The Titans improved to 2-0 in Men’s DD League play Tuesday at Las Animas with an 18-17 edging of Feather Haven.
The Titans needed a seven-run rally in the bottom of the seventh to claim victory, keyed by a two-run, two-out triple from Jim Lazarus. Lee Pappas, Ryan Romero and Dave Hill hit consecutive homers in the Titans third inning. Ricky Gonzalez stroked two doubles and two singles for Feather Haven.
The Players reached 2-0 with a 21-13 decision over Trevino Brothers Construction. Joe Ojeda homered in a 4-for-4 night for the winners. Anthony Duran went 4-for-4 and scored four runs, while Frank Duran homered for the winners. Cavin Brown went 3-for-4 for Trevino Brothers.
Joe Saldate went 5-for-5 with a homer as Team Wicked topped Pacific Coast Bail Bonds 18-9. Steve Christian added three extra-base hits for the winners. Joel Gaeta homered in a 3-for-3 effort for Pacific Coast Bail Bonds.
MONDAY’S GAMES
Memo Lopez went 4-for-4 Monday as Bracco’s Towing (2-0) topped the Desperados 20-12 in Men’s CCC League softball play at Christmas Hill Park.
Danny Rubalcava scored four runs and Mario Silva drove in four runs for the Tow offense. Rubalcava ignited a triple play in the Desperados first inning when he, playing shortstop, caught Bob Stuve’s line drive, stepped on second for a second out and beat the runner back to first for the triple-killing.
Phil Clark lashed two doubles, Dean Filice and Dennis Barroza a double and single apiece for the Desperados.
The Dirty Dozen kept pace with Bracco’s by defeating Just Drink It 20-7.
Daniel Salinas converted four hits into four RBI for the 2-0 Dozen. Ruben Lujan provided four hits and scored four Dirty runs. Dave Meacham went 3-for-3 for the Drinkers.
Lozano’s Let Me Hit It reached 1-1 in first-half play with a 14-5 win over Johnson Lumber.
Isaiah Gonzalez paced Lozano’s with five hits. Luis Bobadilla and Josh Gonzalez hit consecutive home runs in the Lozano’s third stanza. Don Rosa hit a two-run home run and Greg Gonzalez drove in three runs for the victors. Daniel Caspary roped two triples and Phil Ruiz doubled and singled for Johnson Lumber.
Carlos Sandoval homered and Mark Caballo went 3-for-3 as Tax Systems trimmed the Hit Men 9-8.
Albert Camacho ignited the Tax Systems offense with a home run to lead off play. The Hit Men pushed across seven runs in the seventh inning, keyed by two-run singles by Russ Chagnon and David Carroll.
Los Gigantes moved to 2-0 in Men’s C play Tuesday with a 23-3 win over DS Builders at Las Animas Park.
Jose Melendrez Sr. homered in a 4-for-4 showing for the winners. Chris Soto went 4-for-4 and scored four runs, while Noe DeLaTorre and Jeremy Page added Gigantes home runs. Eric Tollison tripled and singled for DS Builders.
Malibu Freezze also moved to 2-0 with a 15-10 nod over Pro Electric.
Brent Boyd carried the Malibu offense with two home runs and a double, driving in six runs. Brian O’Donoghue and Josh Torres each added a double and two singles to the Malibu effort. Anthony Elizondo smacked a home run, two singles and a sacrifice fly for the Pros. Danny Sandoval Jr. clubbed three hits and scored three runs.
