The three men get away with cash, cigarettes
MORGAN HILL
Morgan Hill police are looking for three men who robbed a gas station early Friday morning, striking the female clerk in the face as they demanded money from the registers.
At 1:20 a.m., the three men, whom the clerk told police were black males ages 16 to 19, came into the mini market at the Shell gas station on East Dunne Avenue.
The teens confronted the clerk, according to Morgan Hill police Special Operations Sgt. Jerry Neumayer, demanding money from the register. One of them hit her in the face, and she was forced to open the drawer for them.
After taking $94 from the register and stealing packs of cigarettes and cigars, the suspects left the store and may have driven away in a white Dodge Caravan or similar minivan.
The clerk did not see any weapons, Neumayer said, and she did not require medical treatment as a result of the blow to the face.
She called police immediately, and officers arrived at the scene within a minute, but there was no sign of the robbers.
The clerk told police the three teens were wearing black hooded sweatshirts, and two of them were wearing ski masks. They were between 5-feet 6-inches and 6-feet tall.
