Tennis: Singles play helps CHS boys edge Alvarez

Victor Vong, Josh Hernandez and Ryan Cockcroft each won at singles to lift Christopher High’s boys tennis team to a 4-3 victory over visiting Everett Alvarez on Tuesday.
Vong won 6-3, 5-7, 10-8, while Hernandez won 6-0, 6-0 and Cockcroft won 4-6, 6-1, 10-3.
The Cougars also got doubles wins from Dominic Nguyen and Kyle Kwong (6-3, 6-0), John Cunha and Chris Drewry (8-5), Jesus Velasquez and Diego Espinosa (8-6), and Austin Sepulveda and Tom Madruga.
