GILROY – Team Hair FX improved to 2-0 atop the Men’s D Softball League standings Friday with a 7-6 edging of Humboldt Brewing at Christmas Hill Park.
Hair FX erased a 5-3 deficit by scoring four runs in the fifth inning. Marc Rodriquez, Joel Torres, Gilbert Ramirez and Rico Llamas stroked RBI-hits in the comeback.
Dave Plaza went 3-for-4 and Joe Lovecchio hit a two-run triple for Humboldt.
Fun Party Supply rallied from a 5-0 deficit to defeat Feather Haven 14-7.
Henry Calderon powered a pair of three-run home runs and Xavier Puente went 3-for-4 and scored three Party Supply (2-0) runs. Stan Stewart homered and Phillip Alosi went 3-for-4 for Feather Haven (2-1).
Ben Orduna’s grand slam carried Bike Center past Los Guapos-EMC 15-12. Ro Gaeta added a homer and double for the Bikers. Jorge Landeros and Cesar Vasquez lashed consecutive homers in the Los Guapos seventh inning.
Mangia La Pizza earned a share of first place in the Men’s E pennant chase with a 14-13 win over the Titans Thursday.
Mario Razo’s two-run homer in the fifth pulled Mangia La Pizza (3-0) into a 13-13 tie. Marco Lopez singled and scored the game-winner on Ben Carrasco’s sacrifice fly in the sixth.
Razo went 4-for-4 and Maciel Urenda scored three runs for the winners. Mike Vanni homered in a 4-for-5 effort and Jason Ramirez scored four runs for the Titans.
KC Adams homered and doubled to lead New Hope Community Church past Trevino Brothers Construction 8-6. Chase Locsin went 3-for-3 for Trevino Brothers.
Jake Wischmann went 4-for-5 as Walton & Sons Masonry stopped the Regulators 19-12. Eddie Vargas homered and Daniel Garcia went 3-for-4 for the Regulators.
Claddagh Brew Crew moved into a tie for first in the Men’s EE League at 3-1 with a 34-5 victory over the Good Ole Boys. Greg Sosebee homered twice, Scott Schipper once for the winners. Blayne Rose went 3-for-3 for the Good Ole Boys.
Willis Construction dropped to 3-1 with a 19-18 setback to ACP.
Jesse Jimenez’ sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh capped a two-run rally for ACP. Jimenez went 4-for-4 and Carlitos Jimenez homered for the winners. Abel Jaquez Sr. homered in a 4-for-5 effort for Willis Construction.
The Borrachos defeated VFW Bingo 27-12 behind John Gonzales’ homer and 5-for-5 performance. Mitchell Reese, Ralph Flores and Danny Melendez added Borrachos homers. Stephen Jeske and Julio Zavala homered for 2-2 VFW Bingo.
