Gilroy – South Valley Civic Theatre’s production of “The Music Man,” is nearing conclusion. The shows are 8pm July 20 and 21.
All shows are at the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse, corner of Monterey Road and Dunne Avenue.
Ticket are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students. They may be purchased at BookSmart, 80 E. Second St. Morgan Hill: Gilroy Visitors Bureau, Monterey and IOOF Avenue, Gilroy.

Gilroy – South County Garden Railroaders invite the public to the 13th annual Garden Layout Tour to benefit the St. Joseph’s Center and Community Pantry from 9am to 3pm Sunday. Visit 11 model railroads running through some of the most unusual backyard gardens in Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Hollister and Scotts Valley. Please bring non perishable food (canned goods, pasta, cereal, etc.) to donate and pick up a guide book at the All Aboard Junction train store at 8355 Monterey St., Gilroy.

VNA Grief and Loss Support Group
Gilroy – A free support group for Spanish-speaking persons who are experiencing grief and loss is scheduled to begin Monday, at the Kaiser Gilroy Medical Center. New members are welcome.
The group, organized by the hospice unit of the Central Coast Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, plans to meet on the fourth Monday of every month from 4:30 to 6pm. Rev. Ruben Escobar leads the free and confidential group. Meetings in English are held on the second Monday of every month from 4:30 to 6pm at the Kaiser Gilroy Medical Center.
“These groups are for those who are dealing with a difficult loss,” Lumello said, “While everyone has the right to grieve in his or her own unique way, no one should be forced to do it alone and without support.”

Buy A Book, Raise Funds for Rebekahs
Gilroy – In an effort to raise funds for Rebekah Children’s Services, the nonprofit has partnered with Yvonne Drew author of “Today I Was Adopted.” Their goal is to sell 1,000 books. Proceeds benefit Rebekah Children’s Services. The deadline for purchase is July 31.

PCAG Meets Twice in August
San Martin – The Perchlorate Community Advisory Group meets from 2 to 4pm Friday, Aug. 3, at the San Martin Lion Club Hall, 12415 Murphy Ave. (across from the airport) in San Martin. A second meeting will be held from 7 to 9pm Thursday, Aug. 30 at the same location.

Audition for ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’
Gilroy – South Valley Civic Theatre will conduct auditions for “Arsenic and Old Lace. The first is Thursday Aug. 2 and Friday Aug. 3. Check in at 6:30pm, auditions begin at 7pm. Check in time for Sunday Aug. 3 audition is 1:30pm with auditions beginning at 2pm. Call backs (if necessary) will be Monday, Aug. 6. Be prepared to read from the script or perform a monologue of choice.
Auditions will be held at the South Valley Civic Theatre Warehouse, 8565 Monterey Road. The show will open Sept. 14 and run four weekends with performances Friday and Saturday evenings each week and matinees Sunday Sept. 23 and Sunday Oct. 7 in the Morgan Hill Community Playhouse.

‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ Hits the Stage
Gilroy – The City of Gilroy Community Services Department presents John Bisceglie’s “Shake, Rattle & Roll,” the ultimate 1950s and ’60s musical reunion. The show featured more than 109 local youth and adults.
The show runs Aug. 3 through 17. Aug. 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16 and 17 at 7:30pm. Aug. 5 and 12 at 1 and 5pm.
Performances will be held at South Valley Middle School, 385 IOOF Ave.
All tickets are $12. Seating is reserved seating and reservations are recommended.
