Three Hispanic males with handguns took over Zales Jewelers shortly before 9 p.m. Monday and stole an undisclosed amount of jewelry.
Gilroy police received a call at 8:55 p.m. reporting that an armed robbery had taken place at the store, 8155 Camino Arroyo, in the Gilroy Premium Outlets in northeast Gilroy, police said. When police arrived, the men had already left, driving away in a light-colored sedan.
The men have not been identified, police said. Police did not give any information about what the men were wearing, or what type of handguns they used. Police also did not say if the men covered their faces or wore disguises.
No employees were hurt during the robbery, police said. Police did not say whether there were any customers in the store.
According to the Gilroy Premium Outlets Web site, stores in the complex were set to close at 9 p.m. Monday.
