Christopher High got itself on the right track to begin the second half of the Monterey Bay League Pacific Division season, stopping host North Monterey County 3-1 (16-25, 25-15, 27-25, 25-21) on Thursday night in Castroville.
The match was the second straight in which the Cougars (12-10 overall, 6-1 MBL) dropped the first set only to go on and win the next three. The victory also helps CHS keep pace with Monterey, which also moved to 6-1 on Thursday.
Hanna Tabron recorded 15 digs, giving her 31 in two matches this week. She also had five blocks. Olivia Tabron had 11 kills, and Emily Doughty and Cheyanne Dela Merced each chipped in six kills. Marielle Gomez had a team-high 14 digs. The Cougars again had double-digit service aces, with that category led by Alex Gerberick’s five and Christa Arroyo’s four.
