No. 5-seed Carlmont too much for No. 12 Gilroy in three-set
sweep.
The Gilroy High girls varsity volleyball team ran into a buzz saw in No. 5 Carlmont High School in the first round of the Central Coast Section playoffs Wednesday night.

The Scots (20-13) blitzed the No. 12-seeded Mustangs 25-16, 25-8, 25-13, ending Gilroy’s season with a 15-13 record. The Mustangs were able to sneak into the playoffs, grabbing the final spot in the Division I bracket.
