If a woman were to be paid for everything she does as a mother,
motherhood would be a high-paying job.
If a woman were to be paid for everything she does as a mother, motherhood would be a high-paying job.
That’s what a financial services company concluded in its annual Mother’s Day “study.”
Fairfax, Va.-based Edelman Financial Services found that, based on the combined median annual pay for 17 jobs, a mother should make $707,126 a year, or about $58,000 a month.
That’s up $32,236 from what the company found a mom should have earned last year.
The company looked at all the jobs a mother might hold in a year, from raising kids to cleaning the house.
Company owner Ric Edelman noted that “of course, no one can place a value on the love and affection that mothers give to their families.”
