Dear Editor,
We come to you with our hands, claws, wings, and paws extended.
Since 1984, our center has rehabilitated thousands of animals. We patch them up, set broken bones, and give physical therapy, and hand-feed babies every 20 minutes. We clean, house and provide them with special diets, for our goal is to release them back to their natural habitats, healthy and wild.
The need for our services is now more crucial than ever. As our community rapidly grows, wild animals are forced into closer contact with humans, often with tragic results. Without your help, we may be forced to turn away these patients, or even more sadly, to end our life-saving work. The Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center receives no federal, state or county funding, and is not allowed to charge a fee to care for wildlife. Our center is supported solely by contributions from people and businesses in our community who value and respect wildlife, are concerned about their health and well being, and want the best possible care and chance for their safe return to the wild. People like you.
We stretch every dollar and pinch every penny until it hoots, growls, chirps or hisses. We have wonderful sponsors who provide veterinary care, food, and other donations … but it’s simply not enough.
Your donation will have a real impact at WERC. Every dollar you generously contribute will help save lives and make a significant difference in the quality of life around us. The next time you hear a chickadee in your garden, watch a red-tailed hawk riding the wind, or see a bobcat meandering on a distant hill, remember, your contribution to WERC helps ensure the continues presence of our local native wildlife for future generations.
Every dollar counts, and will be used toward saving our local wildlife in need. Please be as generous as you can, for without your contribution, the animals will suffer. Just as our local wildlife needs W.E.R.C. to care for them, we need you to care for us. Donations may be sent to WERC, P.O. Box 1105, Morgan Hill, CA 95038-1105. Further information may be obtained by calling us at 779-WERC (9372).
Thank you for your continuing support.
Susan Capello, President, WERC Board of Directors
