H. Alnas died at his home in San Juan Bautista on Tuesday
evening, after a lengthy illness.
William “Willie” H. Alnas died at his home in San Juan Bautista on Tuesday evening, after a lengthy illness. He was 58 years old.

Mr. Alnas was born in Gilroy and attended San Juan Grammar School and San Benito High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received two Purple Heart medals and the Bronze Star Medal.

Mr. Alnas was a member of the Old San Juan Mission, the Top Hatters Motorcycle Club and the San Juan V.F.W. Post.

He enjoyed biking with the Top Hatters as one of his hobbies.

He worked for 36 years as a Quality Control Inspector for at Teledyne McCormick Selph of Hollister.

Mr. Alnas is survived by his wife Patti Alnas, of San Juan Bautista; sons, Willie Alnas Jr. and his wife Linda of Hollister, Matthew Alnas and his wife Vera of Gilroy, and Justin Alnas of San Juan Bautista; daughter, Erlinda Alnas of San Juan Bautista; granddaughter, Ashley Alnas of Hollister; grandsons, Michael and Jonathan Alnas, both of Hollister; brothers, John Alnas Jr. of San Juan Bautista, Joe Alnas of Hollister, Julian R. Alnas of Salinas, Ernest H. Alnas of San Juan Bautista, Raymond E. Alnas of San Juan Bautista; sisters, Carmen “Anita” Martinez of Mendota, and Rosalie Lawton of Castroville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Mr. Alnas was preceded in death by a sister Erlinda Hurtado and parents John and Ramona Alnas Senior.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. with the Rosary offered at 7 p.m., at Grunnagle Ament Nelson Funeral Home.

A funeral services will be Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home then proceeding to Old Mission San Juan Bautista for a funeral Mass that will be celebrated commencing at 10 a.m.

Burial and graveside services will follow at the San Juan District Cemetery.
