Gilroy – Williams Dental Lab clinched a tie for the second-half Women’s B League title Wednesday by powering past Handmade Healthcare 18-5 at Las Animas Park.
Rose Martinez went 5-for-5 and shortstop Cherie Somavia anchored the defense with two acrobatic catches as Williams improved to 4-1, one game ahead of Goldsmith Seeds with one game left on the schedule.
Somavia finished with four RBI and Gail Corzo scored four runs for Williams Dental Lab. Yvonne Gaspar went 3-for-4 and Michelle Barry launched an RBI-triple for Handmade Healthcare.
Goldsmith Seeds is 3-2 after a 13-5 victory over Don’s Vending. Gina Valasquez went 4-for-4 and Emily Hernandez blistered two triples and a single for the Seeds. Liz Talavera singled and doubled for Dons Vending.
Dutchman’s Pizza is 4-1 with a one-game lead in the Women’s C chase after a 5-1 win over Image & Design Salon-Guy’s Heating Wednesday at Gavilan Sports Park.
Eva Neibel lined a two-run home run and Stephenie Johnston collected a single, double and triple for the winners. Pauline Lemberger singled home the lone Image-Guy’s marker.
Pacific Coast Bail Bonds joined Image-Guy’s at 3-2 with a 13-4 nod over the M&M’s. Angelica Garcia went 4-for-5 for the winners. Cindy Barnes and Laura Hagiperos each singled and tripled for M&M’s.
Kay’s Kids scored 15 runs in the bottom of the final inning to create a 23-23 tie with Toby’s Girls in Women’s D play Wednesday. Kay’s and Toby’s remain tied atop the four-team league with 3-1-1 marls each.
Melanie Fajardo lined two doubles and two singles for Toby’s Girls. Stephanie Regalado hit a three-run triple in the Kay’s comeback frame.
