Gilroy – The 62-team Winter League Softball Program begins play Tuesday Sept. 6 with tripleheaders at two fields.

The Gilroy Community Services Department program includes six men’s leagues, one women’s league and four co-rec leagues.

Play is conducted on the major fields at Christmas Hill and Las Animas Parks Sundays through Fridays. The top four teams in each league will compete in the post-season playoffs in late October.

The Men’s CC League plays Tuesday at Christmas Hill. Countryside Daycare Center tests Dutchman’s Pizza at 6:30pm, Ascent Electrical-Embroidery Shop plays Rhino Wiring at 7:40pm, with VFW Vets and Dee’z Nutz-Interstate Fence playing the 8:50 game. The Sweepers drew the bye.

EvMar plays the Titans at 6:30pm Tuesday at Las Animas. Pro Electric and New Hope Community Church square off at 7:40pm, Blackout Window Tinting and Humboldt Brewing the 8:50pm Men’s D test. DLM Electric drew the first-night bye.
