Dear Red Phone: What is going to happen to the Gilroy Library
building?
Dont’ be quiet aboutthe library
Dear Red Phone:
What is going to happen to the Gilroy Library building?
Red Phone:
Dear Book Mark:
Red Phone doesn’t know yet. But, you could have a say in it if you book over to the library tonight at 7pm. Residents are invited to meet with the Gilroy Library Commission and city, county and library officials to discuss the future of the Gilroy Community Library building.
The meeting will include review and discussion of choices about what should be done with “the small and failing Gilroy Library building,” according to the city’s Web site. The discussion takes place in the senior meeting room at 7371 Hanna St. For more info, call Bill Headley in the city’s engineering department at 846-0450 ext. 283.
Bad driving stereotypes
Hey Red Phone:
What is it with the women who are driving and apparently they do not know how to drive?!
They park in the red. They probably don’t even have a license. I see a lot of Mexican women driving who don’t even have licenses, I bet.
I think the Gilroy Police Department should pull people over and just ask for their license. I had one lady who was driving in front of me and she started backing up! I had to honk the horn just for her to see me.
I think a lot of women are driving without licenses because how could they be so bad at it? So, I’m just wondering if the Gilroy Police department can do something about it.
Red Phone:
Dear All Revved Up:
You know what they say about women driving? They shouldn’t.
Just joking, c’mon.
Red Phone doesn’t believe bad driving is directly related to gender or to ethnic heritage, despite stereotypes. It has seen bad drivers of all kinds on the streets of Gilroy – women, men, teenagers, Hispanics, Caucasians, farmers, truckers, computer nerds, clowns (well, just that one) – you name it. But, it hasn’t done much about it because it’s usually too difficult a task on top of driving, drinking coffee, listening to music and talking on a cell phone.
Rev, the Gilroy Police have plenty to deal with as it is, Red Phone doesn’t want to see our law enforcement efforts on the streets used staking out the Mexican women in the area who may or may not have a license to get behind the wheel. But it does want the GPD to enforce traffic laws to keep all our citizens safe from bad drivers.
