Gilroy – Student artists from local high schools will display their artwork at “Emerging Artists 2007,” an annual exhibit inviting high school artists to Gavilan College. The exhibit runs through today. The Gavilan College Art Gallery is located in the library on the main campus: 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd.
Admission is free.
Gilroy Easter Egg Hunt for Kids
Gilroy – Kids through grade five can enjoy an Easter egg hunt, and more, from 9am to noon, Saturday at Christmas Hill Park. The free event will feature more than 20,000 candy-filled eggs, prizes, raffles, clowns and balloons.
It is sponsored by New Hope Community Church in conjunction with Gilroy Community Services and The Gilroy Gang Task Force.
Conservative Republicans Meet
Gilroy – Conservative Republicans and others are invited to attend the monthly meeting of the California Republican Assembly (CRA) at 7pm, Thursday. Meet at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites in Morgan Hill, 17035 Condit Road. The objective of the local chapter is to raise political sophistication and keep abreast of politics in the state and country.

Time to Become a Cub Scout
Gilroy – Upon completing kindergarten, your son can be a Cub Scout. Pack 794 has grown from seven to 40 members in less than two years, an are inviting all boys interested in Scouting to attend the April 19 Pack meeting, watch the Scouts’ water rockets, and run with the Pack.

Landlord, Property Manager Workshop
Gilroy – A free workshop for landlords and property managers will teach them about their responsibilities and how to keep rental units safe, from 5:30 to 8:30pm tonight at the Gilroy Senior Center, 7371 Hanna St.
Police Chief Gregg Giusiana, Mayor Al Pinheiro and Community Service officer Rachel Muñoz will welcome attendees to the program, which will review new housing laws, eviction regulations, and effective time management. Spanish translation will be available, and food and refreshments will be provided.
Class of 1967 Reunion Scheduled
Gilroy – The Gilroy High School class of 1967 will be celebrating a 40th reunion Sept. 15, at Las Animas Veterans Park. Free admission and barbecue.
