Don Blakeman, an earthquake analyst at the USGS, said the temblor registered a magnitude of 3.1, which he described as “very minor.” The earthquake was centered about six miles east-northeast of Morgan Hill, at about 8:34 p.m.
The Morgan Hill Police Department did not report any calls for assistance or hear any reports of damages.
