Dear Editor,
This concerns the project we have now come to hate and know
as
”
Santa Teresa Boulevard reconstruction.
”
The letter you received a couple of days ago from Keith Muraoka
hit this project where it hurts. The foolishness of the amount of
time and money being spent on this project is unbelievable.
Dear Editor,
This concerns the project we have now come to hate and know as “Santa Teresa Boulevard reconstruction.”
The letter you received a couple of days ago from Keith Muraoka hit this project where it hurts. The foolishness of the amount of time and money being spent on this project is unbelievable.
The current problem we are having in California is not only money but the cost of electricity. Who has to pay for all the traffic lights, light poles and other fixtures in the City of Gilroy? Eventually, the residents. On the Santa Teresa project, between First Street and Longmeadow Drive, a distance of one mile, there are 33 light poles JUST on the eastern side of the boulevard. Who is going to pay for the additional electricity cost?
Why do we need so many light poles down Santa Teresa?
Why are they installing additional light poles on the side of the street that doesn’t have a sidewalk?
Why can’t the city have alternating lights?
The additional fees for all the additional traffic lights and light poles should be paid by the mayor, the council and the planning commission. Maybe this will open their eyes and get them to try to save the citizens of Gilroy some money. They don’t have to worry, they’ll just increase the taxes or fees.
