,b>PCAG meets Thursday
San Martin – The Perchlorate Community Advisory Group will hold a special evening meeting Thursday, March 30, from 7pm to 9pm, at the Lions Club Hall on Murphy Avenue, in San Martin. Items to be discussed at the special meeting include the end of some bottled water deliveries in San Martin, perchlorate contamination in Morgan Hill, and the possible growth of the perchlorate plume that extends east of Gilroy.
The group, known as PCAG, was formed in 2003 to help the South County community cope with the perchlorate pollution, which was caused by the Olin Corp.’s former road-flare factory in Morgan Hill. PCAG meets monthly to discuss progress in cleaning the plume and potential health hazards, and to help guide state and local water policy. Community attendance is encouraged.
