The State Farm Gina Lopez Agency Angels got a bases-loaded triple from Darius Jones in the bottom of the second inning for the first three runs against the RG Builders Orioles last Tuesday. Gilbert Herta drove in two other Angels runs with a bases-loaded single. Angels pitchers Bryan Easton and Jones combined for a no-hitter in their first ever pitching performances. The Orioles’ pitching staff allowed just two hits in the game. “It was great to see all the kids have fun in the first game of the season. The Orioles were a tough opponent and were well-coached,” said Angels coach Kevin Easton. “I am glad that our kids were patient and timely with their hits. They worked hard in practice to learn and execute the fundamentals and it paid off for them today.”

Giants vs. Mets (No Score Reported)

Dallas Wilson (3-for-3), Chris Spohr (2-for-3), Jimmy Lemberger, Brendan Lerma, Mike Burns and Tanner Huddleston each had hits for the Giacalone Electrical Services Giants Thursday against The Claddagh Mets. Jonathan Large pitched three strong innings and Anthony Bollendorf had a solid defensive game behind the plate for the Giants.

Girls Minors Sunbirds 8, Heat 6 (5 innings)

Holly Lam (3 hits), Abby Kienle (2 hits), Savannah Hanoum (2 hits) led the Mission Valley Veterinary Cardiology Sunbirds to victory in Friday’s game against the California Silk Screening Heat which was called after five innings due to time. For the Sunbirds, Lam’s four innings of strong pitching were backed up by the defense of Ali Robles and Anna Gamboa.
