News Story Should No Have Included Information on Women’s Lobsters

Dear Editor,

I am so upset about the article on Dennis Johns.

This man was a friend of mine, who died yesterday and reading this article was extremely insensitive to his family, not to mention myself, and all his other friends. I am not overlooking the fact that Dennis Johns put other people in danger, but here he is on fire and the women five doors down is worried about her lobsters. That was probably the truth, but unnecessary information. It is like the reporter is making a joke about him, when he had burned 90 percent of his body that night.

Think about the two teenage children he left behind; they do not need this rubbed in their face. A man’s on fire who is involved in drugs; these are serious matters, and bringing up the “lobster” women’s comments makes the incident seem so trivial.

Maybe when people are hospitalized and in critical condition, you could be more humane about the type of news you print.
