Gilroy – South County Rockery edged the Big Kahunas 8-7 Sunday to earn the second-half Co-Rec D League title at Las Animas Park.

Rockery completed the second half at 5-1 and will face first-half champion Team Hair FX beginning Friday Aug. 11 at 8:50pm at Christmas Hill Park in the best 2-of-3 Championship Series.

Danny Benz doubled and scored on a two-out error in the top of the seventh inning to lift the Big Kahunas into a 7-7 tie. Rockery responded with an infield error to open the seventh and a game-winning double by Beverly Quinby.

Raul Gracia, Cesar Lopez and Rigo Benevidez each singled and doubled for South County Rockery. Jess Alonzo hit two home runs and a double, Benz a single, double and triple for the Big Kahunas.

Radiator Doctor will play Giacalone Electrical Services in the Co-Rec E Championship Series.

Giacalone Electrical earned the second-half Co-Rec E title at 5-1. Frame Your Family In Eyewear slipped to 4-2 with a 12-2 loss to Radiator Doctor. Henry Maquinalez Sr. went 4-for-4 and Rudy Maquinalez stroked a double and two singles for the Doctors. John Ceballos singled and homered for Frame Your Family.

Pacific Coast Bail Bonds claimed the second-half Co-Rec B pennant Sunday by squeaking past Dequin’s Auto Body-Stubby’s Sports Bar & Grill 24-23 at Gavilan Sports Park.

Pacific Coast and Dequin-Stubby begin the Championship Series Thursday Aug. 10 at 8:50pm at Las Animas.

Marshall Silva’s fourth hit of the game plated Misty Soares with the game-winner as Pacific Coast Bail Bonds struck for three runs in the bottom of the final inning.

Anthony Hernandez homered and scored four runs for Pacific Coast. Neal Andrade, Ryan Dequin and Benji Dequin each homered for the losers.

Johnny Ramirez went 4-for-4 and Jim Sands clubbed two home runs to lead Cary O’Neal Roofing by Lights Out 16-8. Mike Hernandez homered and Matt Hernandez went 3-for-4 for Lights Out. Cary O’Neal Roofing plays the winner of tonight’s 6:30pm game between Yeah So and Dee’z Nutz & Cherriez at Christmas Hill in the C League Championship Series.

Rosso’s Rebels took the second-half Men’s D crown Friday at Gavilan by defeating Dr Tile 22-2. Zeke Lopez hit a grand slam and Jaime Rosso went 4-for-4 for the 6-0 Rebels. Marco Delgado hit a two-run home run for Dr. Tile.

George Espinoza went 4-for-4 as 5-1 Bomb Squad topped Team Hair FX 15-8. Damon Romo homered for the Bombers, Gilbert Ramirez for Team Hair FX.

Eric Gonzalez went 5-for-6 with a home run to lead Elite Barbers past Trevino Brothers Construction 23-11. Matt Tate managed a homer, triple and single for Trevino Brothers.
