I completely agree and I applaud you for stating an opinion about Gilroy Unified School District’s GATE program.
As a parent of three GATE-identified kids, two of whom graduated from GUSD, I know the kids are assets, not albatrosses. The high expectations we place on our GATE kids should, in fact, be the expectations we place on all kids. Then, we must tailor the educational plan to the level of giftedness each child displays. IIPs would be a good start.
Thanks, again, for highlighting the disappointing GUSD attitude on this issue.
