GILROY – Chevy’s, 8440 Murray Ave., is hosting a fund raiser for the California High School Rodeo Association today from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Simply give your server your receipt, inform them of your intent to support the fund raiser and Chevy’s will donate 20 percent of the proceeds to the CHSRA.
All high school students attending public, private or home school in California are eligible to participate in the CHSRA. Representatives from the CHSRA will be available in the evening to answer any questions on how to become involved in sport. Details or reservations: Chevy’s at:

Symphony Season Opens
GILROY– South Valley Symphony will open its 30th concert season Saturday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Gavilan College theater, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd. Music Director/Conductor Henry Mollicone has selected a program consisting of operatic arias by Verdi, Puccini and Mozart. Two featured vocalists, Karen McConachie, soprano, and Michael Morris, baritone, will join the orchestra in several operatic arias from the operas “Rigoletto,” “La Traviata,” “La Rondine” and more.
Individual tickets are priced at $12 adults, $10 seniors over 55, and $7 for students and are available at Snappy Photo, California Music Company and Porcella’s Music in Gilroy. Season tickets will be available at Gavilan College box office the day of performance at $60 for adults, $50 seniors and $35 students age 12 to 18.

Audition for ‘Peter Pan’

MORGAN HILL – Easy Street Theatre Company will perform Agatha Christie’s “The Mouse Trap.” This is Agatha Christie’s most famous whodunit, and it is the longest running play in the history of Theatre, running continuously since 1957.
Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9,10, and 11 at 8 p.m. On Oct. 11, a matinee will be held at 2 p.m. Performances are at the Morgan Hill Playhouse, 17000 Monterey Road, on the corner of Dunne and Monterey.

Church harvest festival
MORGAN HILL – St. Catherine’s Harvest Festival will celebrate its 40th anniversary with food, rides, games and entertainment from Oct. 10 through 12. All proceeds will benefit St. Catherine’s Parish and School. There will be Italian, Filipino and Mexican cuisine as well as a chicken barbecue on Saturday evening and breakfast on Sunday morning. Beer and wine will be available. Enjoy pony rides, magic shows, local musicians, karate and dance performances.

High Flyin’ Harvest Festival
SAN MARTIN – The Wings of History Antique Aircraft Museum, adjacent to San Martin Airport, 12777 Murphy Ave., invites the public to its Harvest Festival Saturday, Oct. 11, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Come explore an exhibit of old airplanes, automobiles, tractors, gas engines and even old scooters.
