DEAR EDITOR:
Gilroy voters, are you ready for some more property tax hikes?! That’s exactly what we’ll undergo if Open-Space-Authority proponents Bruce Morasca, Paul Correa, and Mark Dover slither into City Council! The city can’t even maintain the parks it has. The east half (empty pond) of Las Animas Veterans Park has been a mud hole for 15 years. It looks horrible, and is nothing more than a hangout for bums.
Doesn’t anyone see theses three are out to nickel-and-dime the taxpayers? The excuse for the OSA is twofold: To build more parks, and the usual nonsense about how we should do everything in lock step with the rest of Santa Claus County.
And if the above con isn’t enough, Morasca also wants one percent of the city budget to go to the arts. Then, when necessities are bankrupt, he’ll hit us up for more taxes. This is the same mentality that has bankrupted the state. Keep these three off Council!
