GILROY – When working to expand the city’s economic base, it’s a good idea to make sure you understand its existing businesses – and what makes them healthy and happy.
With that in mind, the city’s Economic Development Corporation wants to tap the input of Gilroy’s industrial and commercial businesses as part of a business retention project.
“It will be very beneficial to get out and see what the future plans of our businesses are,” said GEDC Executive Director Bill Lindsteadt at a recent City Council retreat.
The project aims to help
under-stand the status and future of Gilroy’s industry by ident-ifying its pro-ducts, sup-pliers, growth plans and assistance and expansion needs.
The city’s 30 top industrial and 10 top commercial businesses would receive in-depth personal interviews from officials. A sampling of businesses from the Gilroy Premium Outlets could also be included.
Other industries would be surveyed by mail.
