Willams Dental Lab claimed the Women’s B League season title
Tuesday with a 19-6 victory over Don’s Vending at Las Animas

GILROY – Willams Dental Lab claimed the Women’s B League season title Tuesday with a 19-6 victory over Don’s Vending at Las Animas Park.

The Lab earned both halves of play in the four-team league. Handmade Healthcare, a 14-10 winner over Krazy Koyotes, tabbed the second-place honors.

Williams Dental Lab built a 2-1 lead after one inning, then struck for seven runs in the second inning and six in the third.

Margene Peterson, Maureen Hughes and Annette Romero slapped run-scoring singles in the Dental second stanza. Hughes added a two-run single in the third inning.

Wendy Wilson and Hughes earned finished with three hits for the winners. Kathy Van Hoy drilled a triple and two singles, Veronica Rodriguez three singles for Don’s Vending. Alma Quistian provided a double and single to the Don’s attack. The Vendors, the first-half C League titlist, went 2-4 for the half and will compete in the best 2-of-3 C League post-season next month.

Handmade rallied from an 8-1 deficit in the third inning to top Krazy Koyotes. D.J. Simpson and Shelly DeJesus each clubbed a run-scoring double as Handmade scored six runs in the third inning. Mary Ellen Valdivia lined a two-run double as Healthcare took an 11-9 lead in the fifth inning.

Erica Dickens went 3-for-5 and scored four runs for Handmade Healthcare. Lynn Nebesnick, Vicki Groppe and Kristen Rennard each produced three hits for the Krazy Koyotes.

Victoria’s Restaurant Banditos clinched a tie for the second-half Men’s B League pennant Tuesday witha 12-8 victory over Out 2 Bang at Gavilan Sports Park.

Ralph Martinez cracked a home run, double and single, scoring three runs for 5-0 Victoria’s Banditos. Aaron Fuqua homered in a 3-for-3, four-RBI night for the winners. Ernie Estrada and Alex Flores each homered for Bang.

Talamo Foods remained one game off the pace at 4-1 with a 31-13 nod over Lopez Vending. Abel Jacquez hit two homers in a 5-for-5 performance, Mike Soto two homers in a 4-for-4 effort for the first-half champions. Marshall Silva went 3-for-4 with three RBI for Lopez Vending, the first-half BB League champion.
