Volunteer at middle school
GILROY – Ascencion Solorsano Middle School, located off Santa Teresa Boulevard, will hold a parent meeting on Tuesday, July 22, at 7 p.m. in the school multipurpose room. The agenda will cover volunteer help for the move into the site, the welcome barbecue scheduled for Aug. 21, the Opening Day Cornerstone Ceremony scheduled for Sept. 16 and donating Garlic Festival hours to the school. GILROY – Gavilan College students who are at least 18 years of age may register for fall classes on the following dates.
• Gilroy main campus, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd.: Register through Thursday, July 31, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Fridays from 9 to11:30 a.m. From Aug. 1 to 15, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 2, register from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Morgan Hill and Hollister: Register through Friday, July 25, Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 2, register from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. From Aug. 11 to 15, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a .m. to noon, 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.
High school students may register as contract students starting Saturday, Aug. 2. Fall semester starts Tuesday, Aug. 19.
