Dear Editor:
With President Bush appointing a retired U.S. general and defense contractor to govern Iraq, he has further damaged America’s relationship with Arab nations (Iraq included), most European countries and the United Nations. General Jay Garner, will be giving out very lucrative contracts to companies in re-building Iraq. He will also be the man who will be appointing the person to control the oil fields. I realize there has to be an authoritative figure to fill the void left by the fall of a dictator but why didn’t he let the United Nations choose that person? Otherwise, and justifiably so, it appears to the world that we are not liberators but conquerors.
Bush has snubbed all nations who have disagreed with him and in doing so, it is “go it alone” time again for the U.S. Now Bush is rattling his saber at Syria. Who is next and just who is going to be paying for all of this? We, our children and our grandchildren will be paying with tax dollars and paying with more terrorist attacks on our nation. This is not fighting terrorism. It is inviting it.
