Graffiti targeting gangs and a police officer was spray painted on the wall of a doctor’s office in downtown Gilroy over the weekend.
Police found “expletives directed at the PD and gang slurs” covering the hallway walls of an office at 7528 Eigleberry St., said Sgt. Jim Gillio. The vandals broke a window to gain entry to the office and also stole a laptop.
The graffiti mentioned a police officer by name, he said.
“It is concerning,” Gillio said. “The officer in question has been notified.”
Police do not know why the particular officer named was targeted or why the vandals chose to leave their message at that doctor’s office.
“We will do everything we can to identify this person and make sure they’re held accountable for the burglary and vandalism of this business,” Gillio said.
