– including an emerald encrusted wedding ring valued at $1,000,
a ring with 20 to 25 diamonds valued at $7,000, a black coral and
gold bracelet valued at $4,385 – and $125 in case from a house on
St. Andrews Circle, between Jan. 7 2008 and Feb. 18, 2010.
A cruel joke
A couple of unidentified suspects scratched gang-related graffiti onto a blue Ford Mustang parked on the 100 block of Southgate Court, about 9:25 p.m. Monday. They also broke the Mustang’s windshield and its right tail light with an unknown type of weapon, possibly a bat. A silver Mitsubishi four-door sedan with tinted windows was seen leaving the area immediately after someone heard the damage done to the Mustang. People in the Mitsubishi were reportedly laughing. The total value of the damage was estimated at $5,300.
It’s just for cooking, I swear
Police arrested Antonio Vasquez, 35, of San Martin at 12:49 a.m. Monday after he was found in the passenger seat of a suspicious vehicle at 611 El Toro Way. Vasquez was found to be a parolee at large, and police allegedly searched him to find a butter knife that was shaped and shaved into a lock-picking device.
Prescription calls for arrest
Police received a report that someone was arrested in Palo Alto at 5 p.m. Feb. 18 for passing forged prescriptions that were stolen from Gilroy Neighborhood Health Clinic, 7861 Murray Ave.

On the face of it …
A man told police that he had found a counterfeit $20 bill lying on the ground at Third Street and Wren Avenue, 8 a.m. Monday. The counterfeit was of poor quality and was only copied on the face side. The back of the bill was blank.
A late report of robbery at gunpoint
A man told police Feb. 23 that someone had robbed him at gunpoint sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas while he was fixing his vehicle’s lights on the 400 block of First Street. He told police he waited a while to tell them about the incident because no witnesses were present.
One clean thief
A burglar or burglars cut the fencing at Cresco Equipment, 6300 Chestnut St., 1:01 a.m. Feb. 24. The burglar or burglars entered the yard and stole a generator, pressure washers and soil compactors, worth more than $12,000.
Cars pillaged at tow yard
A burglar or burglars broke into the yard at All Pro Towing, 355 Mayock Road, and broke into eight vehicles, stealing stereos from at least six of the vehicles. At least $500 worth of equipment was stolen. A stereo was stolen from another car and another car’s vehicle was smashed on Mayock Road after 5 p.m. Sunday.
Stealing for two?
Thieves stole a $180 baby monitor and $150 worth of miscellaneous clothing from Burlington Coat Factory, 6900 Chestnut St., 3:47 p.m. Feb. 22. They reportedly fled in a 2000 tan Chevrolet Suburban.
