Nine pieces of woman’s jewelry and $20,000 in cash were stolen
from a locked metal box at a residence on the 1600 block of Buena
Vista Avenue, between 3 and 5 a.m. March 9. The burglar entered the
home through a window and pried open the victim’s locked bedroom
door, then used a key found in the victim’s coat pocket to open the
locked box.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Vincent Ricardo Martinez, 26, of Watsonville, 9:41 a.m. Sunday, on the 4000 block of Hecker Pass Highway.

Under the influence of a controlled substance

Kathleen Anne Martin, 40, of Morgan Hill 1:10 a.m. Friday, near Cochrane Road and Madrone Parkway in Morgan Hill for possession of methamphetamine and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Public intoxication

Alfredo Velarde-Aguilar, 52, of Gilroy, 7:50 p.m. March 10, at the Caltrain Station near Old Gilroy Road and Monterey Street after police found him lying on the sidewalk and he told them he drank four bottles of whiskey.

Vehicle theft

A 1990 maroon Honda Accord was stolen from a residence on the 15000 block of Columbet Avenue in San Martin, between 7:30 and 10 a.m. Saturday.

Found bicycle

A bicycle was found next to a mailbox on the 10600 block of Monterey Road, 10:42 a.m. Saturday.

Vehicle burglary

The window of a 2001 blue Acura MDX parked at Gavilan College, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., was broken and a silver iPod and black iPod adapter were stolen from inside, between 10:20 and 10:41 a.m. Saturday.

The window of a vehicle parked on the 7000 block of Holsclaw Road was broken and video and electronic equipment and power tools were stolen from inside, between 8 p.m. March 7 and 8 a.m. March 8.

Identity theft

A Morgan Hill woman’s Macy’s Visa account number was used to make $1,238.50 in unauthorized charges, between 12 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. Feb. 3.

A Morgan Hill woman’s social security number was used to open an AT&T account and charge $298.78, between 10 a.m. July 15 and 10:30 a.m. March 9.

A Gilroy woman was contacted by AT&T regarding her delinquent account although she had never had any business with the company, 8 a.m. Feb. 20.

Residential burglary

A television and other property were stolen from a residence on the 12300 block of Watsonville Road in Morgan Hill, between 8 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. March. 11.

Attempted residential burglary

The door jamb of a residence on the 10500 block of Watsonville Road was tampered with and broken, and police found a footprint on the door where someone tried to kick it in, between 3:15 and 3:30 p.m. March 11.

Forgery

A check a Morgan Hill woman wrote to Santa Clara County and another check she wrote to an unspecified party were never received by the intended parties and instead were cashed for $1,680, an amount the woman did not approve, between 2:30 p.m. March 8 and 4:35 p.m. March 10.
