Three budding artists won awards in the FastFrame Art Contest for Kids.
The competition, based upon creativity with the theme “My Favorite Place,” was sponsored by FastFrame in Morgan Hill.
Georgina McCutcheon, 7, of Gilroy, took first place for her colorful watercolor of “Mt. Madonna in the Fall.” She takes private art instruction from Lynda Bassett. McCutcheon’s work qualified to be entered in national competition.
The second-place winner was Nikka Manalili, 6, of Gilroy, for her pastel, “The Zoo.” She receives art instruction from Nancy Marselis at Oakwood Elementary.
Katarina Johnson, 10, of Morgan Hill, won third place for her watercolor, “Italy.” She is also a student with Bassett.
The judging panel of professional artists was Lorna Saiki, Satu Viitanen and Jeanie Watson, all of Morgan Hill.
Prizes for winners included custom framing of their creations by FastFrame and art supplies from BookSmart for both the winners and their place of instruction.
