SAN JOSE—The San Jose Sharks released their 2015-16 regular season schedule Thursday, and they will kick things off with a California clash.
The Sharks open their season Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Los Angeles Kings. Three days later, the team returns to San Jose to host Anaheim Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. for its home opener.
San Jose will play 18 weekend home contests this year. The Sharks will battle their Pacific Division opponents—Arizona, Calgary, Vancouver, Anaheim, Edmonton and Los Angeles—27 times.
The Sharks will face every NHL opponent at least twice this year, both on the road at home. This means every NHL team will visit the SAP Center at least once during the season, including the reigning Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 25.
San Jose will host the Colorado Avalanche at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 26 in the last game before the NHL All-Star Break—Jan. 28-31—held in Nashville, Tenn. this season. The team returns to the ice at 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at Anaheim.
The Sharks longest homestand is a six-game stretch from March 19-28 when they take on New York (March 19), Arizona (March 20), St. Louis (March 22), Edmonton (March 24), Dallas (March 26) and the Kings (March 28).
San Jose closes out the regular season with two consecutive home games against Winnipeg and Arizona on April 7 and 9, respectively. Both games are slated for 7:30 p.m.
