By the time Fernando Lares found the back of the net for Gilroy, his team was already fighting an uphill battle.Â
Unfortunately for the Mustangs, Lares’ goal would be all they could muster as they fell 5-1 at Alisal Tuesday. Sean Kaufman assisted on the score.
The Trojans built a 4-0 lead at the half from which Gilroy couldn’t recover.Â
The loss drops the Mustangs to 4-8 overall, 2-4 in the Monterey Bay League-Gabilan Division. They will travel to Hollister for a 3:30 p.m. contest Thursday.
