Gilroy – Bad News powered past the VFW Vets 26-9 Tuesday to win the first-half Men’s C League softball title at Christmas Hill Park.

Bad News (5-1) prepped for second-half play in the BB League by fashioning rallies of nine and 12 runs. Daniel Salinas carried the News offense with two home runs and two doubles. Art Naranjo provided a solo home run, Xavier Puente four runs scored. Cody Wilson singled and homered for 1-5 VFW Vets.

K’s Dogs topped Pacific Coast Bail Bonds 13-5 to leave both clubs at 3-3.

Rigo Benavides and Paulo Pereira each scored three runs for the Dogs. Ruben Guerrero went 4-for-4 for the winners. Shawn Hernandez went 3-for-4 for Pacific Coast Bail Bonds.

Blackout Window Tinting and Cosa Nostra each went 6-0 in Men’s DD play by securing wins Tuesday. The teams will square off at 7:40 p.m. on Wednesday June 8 at Gavilan for the first-half crown.

Eddie Flores went 4-for-4 with a home run to spark Cosa Nostra to a 16-10 win over the Loco Boys at Gavilan Sports Park. Isaiah Gonzales stroked a homer, double and single for the co-league leaders. Nathan Mandell went 3-for-4 and scored three Loco Boys runs.

Anthony Corral and Frank Duran boomed home runs as Blackout Window Tinting defeated the Assassins 24-10 at Las Animas Park. Duran, Jason Corral and Danny Rubio each came up with four Tinter hits. David Ruiz went 3-for-3 for the Assassins.

The Hitmen topped Sign Creations 26-16 behind five hits apiece from David Carroll and Kurt Maltman. Anthony Gaetani homered and Anthony Elizondo and Moses Guerrero Jr. each stroked three hits for Sign Creations.

God’s Gangsters finished the half at 3-3 with a forfeit win over Fine Line Painting.
