DEAR EDITOR:
Like many longtime Gilroy residents, we witnessed the evolution of Bonfante Gardens and eagerly anticipated the roll it would play in the future of our city. We still support the theme park but are becoming increasingly impatient with Michael’s repeated attempts to salvage Bonfante Gardens with the use of city resources and personnel.
Over the last several years, Michael has asked the City Council for much special consideration. Shouldn’t the City Council be directing it’s energy and resources toward solving the many problems and challenges faced by the current residents of Gilroy? Our growing city has already granted Michael many special favors in his quest to keep Bonfante Gardens open. We can’t keep our Council focused on issues that are not beneficial to a greater percentage of our population.
Perhaps it’s time to fine tune and focus the attention of our community’s management and legal teams to the resolution of the many problems we face together as citizens of the Garlic Capital.
Enough is enough and it’s time to move on.
