Professional boxing series continues at HP Pavilion at San Jose
on March 12
SAN JOSE – Silicon Valley Sports & Entertainment (SVS&E) and Sugar Ray Leonard Boxing announced that Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank will kick off the 2004 season at HP Pavilion at San Jose on Friday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m.
In the main event, the undefeated Daniel Seda 19-0-1 (16 KO’s) looks to improve his record with a victory over Anthony Martinez 18-22-2 (9 KO’s) in a 12-round fight.
Also on the card, local hero, Kelsey Jeffries 24-8-0 (2 KO’s), fights in the only female fight of the evening and the undefeated Ben Dunne 10-0-0 (8 KO’s) who takes on Orlando Soto 6-5-0 (1 KO). All fighters are subject to change.
According to Sugar Ray Leonard, Daniel Seda is “all action with power in both hands.” Although Seda is armed with the WBA Featherweight Title, Anthony Martinez is not easy to beat. Martinez, originally from Nicaragua, has fighting experience from all over the world and provides tough competition.
Kelsey Jeffries is the reigning World Champion. If that is not enough, she is also from Gilroy and brings the Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank crowd to their feet every time she fights with her aggressive moves.
However, Linda ‘The Terminator’ Tenberg is ranked #13 in the World and has faced the toughest competition in Women’s Boxing. Originally from Thailand, Tenberg has been in the ring with Elena Reid and Mia St. John to name a few. At 30 years old, Tenberg looks to dethrone Jeffries of her #1 World Ranking.
Additionally, Irishman Bernard Dunne went undefeated in Ireland, earning 11 national titles. Armed with a great chin and ability to see well in the ring, Dunne brought his skills to the United States, training with Freddie Roach in Hollywood, California. Orlando Soto 6-5-1 (2 KO’s) of Tijuana Mexico, on the other hand, is a warrior. Each of Soto’s wins have been impressive and all of his losses have gone the distance. Undefeated in ten-round fights, he challenges Dunne in a 6-rounder and looks to move to the next level of the Featherweight Division with a victory.
With two new-comers in the Super Flyweight Division, Jose Rico 5-6-0 (2 Knockouts) of Los Angeles and Francisco Arce 9-1-0 (4 KO’s) of Los Mochis, Mexico both bring speed and quickness to the bout. With both contenders looking to improve their rankings, the bout promises to be fierce and unpredictable.
The 2004 Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank schedule at HP Pavilion at San Jose includes: March 12, May 20, July 22, September 23 and November 18. All dates are subject to change. All cards are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
