Morgan Hill – Sasko earned his doggie biscuits Saturday. With the help of some two-legged officers, he apprehended a suspect in a battery case.

When a Morgan Hill man fled after his girlfriend called police, Sasko tracked him several blocks where he was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault and battery, Lt. Joe Sampson said.

“This is the kind of work he does best.”

The call came in at 5am Saturday when a resident of the Christina Apartments on West Main Avenue reported her ex-boyfriend, Porfirio Perez, was intoxicated and upset because she had recently ended their relationship.

Perez, 32, of Morgan Hill, entered her home through a bedroom window and beat the woman , police said. When she was able to grab the telephone, Perez fled.

Sasko immediately found Perez’s trail, and followed his scent up West Dunne Avenue to the end. There, Sasko found Perez, Sampson said, hiding under a bush.
