CUPERTINO – The Lady Mustang JV gymnastics squad rounded out its season by placing third in Friday’s SCVAL Championships at Cupertino High.
“I’m really proud of the girls for keeping their spirits high,” said head coach Jennifer Yip, whose junior varsity tumblers accumulated 173.35 points. “The competition this year was amazing.”
Meghan Signorotti finished a team-high third in the all-around with 36.19 points, placing seventh on vault with an 8.7, sixth on bars with a 9.2, fourth on beam with a 9.15 and sixth on floor with a 9.10.
“Meghan’s goal was to place in the top three all-around because who ever places in the top three has to move up to varsity the next season,” Yip said. “So, Meghan accomplished her goal.”
Adrienne Etienne finished fourth in the all-around with 35.35 points, including a fourth-place score on bars with a 9.45 and fifth-place tally on beam with an 8.8. Teammate Chelsea Garcia took fifth in the all-around with 35.2 points, including a second-place mark on floor with a 9.2.
