Samantha Nydam led Gavilan with 10 kills against Foothill, but it just wasn’t enough to record a ‘W’.
The Rams fell 3-0 to Foothill Wednesday at home, losing 16-25, 12-25, 23-25. 
Savanna Hartman added seven kills, seven digs, two aces and a block in the game. Lissette Pedraza led the Rams with nine assists in addition to three digs. Raelynn Heredia added 16 digs in the game. 
Gavilan (9-11 overall, 3-4 in conference) will be back on the court at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Skyline College. 
MEN’S SOCCER
Rams fall to Evergreen
Gavilan dropped it’s third straight, falling 5-0 to Evergreen College Friday at home. 
The visitors jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the half, thanks to goals from Raul Cardona in the 22nd minute and Alexis Villalobos in the 28th. Marcelo Hernandez assisted on Cardona’s score, while Villalobos had help from Jake Brice-Wiffen and Hernandez.
Hernandez knocked in a goal of his own after the break in the 53rd minute off an assist from Villalobos. Lewis Rathbone scored with help from Brice-Wiffen in the 60th and Brice-Wiffen found the back of the net in the 63rd for the final. Hernandez assisted on that goal. 
Stats for Gavilan were not available. 
The Rams (2-11-3 overall, 1-7-1 in conference) will be back in action at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Foothill College. 
JUCO Basketball
Season starts this week
Both the men and women’s basketball teams will kick off their seasons this week. 
The men’s team will begin play at the Las Positas Tournament Thursday in Livermore. The tournament runs through Saturday, but times are yet to be determined. The men will play at Merced at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 and play their home opener at 7 p.m. Nov. 19 against City College of San Francisco. 
The women’s team will open its season at the Mission College Tournament, which runs Friday through Sunday in Santa Clara. It will play its first home game against Reedley College at 5 p.m. Nov. 12.
