Join in fundraiser
The City of Gilroy Parks and Recreation Commission would like to extend an invitation to the community to participate in our upcoming Gilroy Recreation Department Youth Scholarship Fund frozen yogurt fundraiser with Fro-Yo Fever. On Friday, Aug. 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., Fro-Yo Fever will donate 20 percent of sales to the Youth Scholarship Fund. The City of Gilroy Recreation Department is pleased to offer Youth Recreation Scholarships to Gilroy Unified School District residents who would like to participate in our programs, but may be unable to due to economic restraints.
The fundraiser, which takes place all day Aug. 29, will be held at Fro-Yo Fever in Gilroy Crossing Shopping Center: 6955 Camino Arroyo, Suite 40. Please mention the fundraiser so that your purchase can contribute to recreation scholarships for our local youth.
The Parks and Recreation Commission believes that Gilroy is a great place to live, work and play; we want to continue sponsoring activities that benefit the community. The Youth Scholarship Fund directly benefits families needing assistance with registration costs. We hope to see as many people as possible at this event.
Thank you for your support,
Julie Garcia, Parks and Recreation Commissioner
Charter service a nightmare
I have tried repeatedly to reach Charter regarding their services. At least fifteen times, including by phone and internet. Calls to their various “call centers” have been transferred, dropped and put on hold—and disconnected. But not without my having to listen to repeated messages regarding their service or asking if I would participate in rating the customer services I receive. But, alas, I NEVER received any services. The representatives are NOT allowed to call you back when a call is dropped or disconnected even after you have supplied that information!
When trying to connect online I am unable to supply the “correct” user name, or ID after multiple times of trying to reset!
My requests are simple:
1. Why does my internet connection go down at various times for no reason I can discern, especially in the past month or so?
2. Why is my TV reception so poor, even with new SONY TV that was connected by a professional?
I have spent hours trying to get help! It is frustrating and unbelievable that we live in Silicon Valley and are subject to this type of service!
Friends who live out of state have better services available to them than I do!
Charter is my ONLY choice for these services at my home as I live where Direct or Dish cannot connect due to large oak trees. Help!
