St. Mary School seventh-graders were transported to 1562 at Queen Mary of Scotland’s banquet as part of an intensive social studies lesson on medieval times.
Students chose and researched a historic figure, created a tapestry, coat of arms and other projects before the April 11 banquet. The St. Andrew’s Guild, Noble Order of Royal Scots, a nonprofit guild re-enacting the court of Mary Queen of Scotland, talked to students about life in medieval times.
