New additions to Heritage Bank

Gilroy – Heritage Bank’s President, John McGrath, announced Marie Hook joined Heritage on Jan. 31 as Senior Vice President/Construction Loan Officer. Also joining the bank at the same time is John Carroll, Vice President Construction Loan Officer and Linda Pao, Construction Loan Support Specialist.

Hook previously was with San Jose National Bank for 20 years, most recently a Senior Vice President Real Estate Loan Manager.

For the four years prior to joining Heritage Bank of Commerce, John Carrol was Vice President Construction Loan Officer with San Jose National Bank and previously with California Bank and Trust for 21 years.

Linda Pao was also with San Jose National Bank.

“We are very pleased to have Marie join our construction group. She has a tremendous reputation and following. Marie, John and Linda are solid complements to our department,” McGrath said.

Heritage Commerce Corp., a bank holding company established in February 1998, is the parent company of Heritage Bank of Commerce, established in 1994 and headquarters in San Jose with offices in Los Gatos, Fremont, Danville, Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Mountain View and two offices in Los Altos.

Pete Welton promoted

Salinas – Community Bank of Central California is pleased to announce the promotion of Pete Welton to First Vice President/Senior Commercial Lender. Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, Welton is a graduate of Fresno State with 27 years of banking experience. A 40-year California resident, he lives in Gilroy with his wife Page, a Hollister native. They have two daughters, Pauli and Peri.

Truebridge promoted to Division President

Milpitas – Chris Truebridge was promoted to Division President of Shapell Homes, one of the largest homebuilders in Northern California with master-planned communities in San Jose, Gilroy, San Ramon and in Contra Costa County near Blackhawk.

Chris has run the Northern California operations of Shapell since June of 2001, when he was promoted to Executive Vice President/Division Manager. In his role as division president, he oversees 170 employees, operations and marketing for a company that builds approximately 500 single-family homes per year and at any given time, has 300 homes in various stages of construction. Land planning and acquisition are among his biggest priorities as president.

Shapell Homes is a land development and home building organization founded in 1955 in Southern California and expanded to Northern California in the early 1970s. Shapell Industries is developing 118 homes – in conjunction with Bonfante Gardens – on 32.7 acres in a northern adjunct to Eagle Ridge in west Gilroy.

Truebridge joined Shapell in August 1977 in a field position. Within two years of his hiring he was promoted to General Superintendent for site development (Offsites) in Northern California. In 1981, Truebridge moved into the office to start a Landscape Department.

By 1988, it was clear to him that land acquisition and entitlements were the core of a successful land development company and Truebridge asked and was granted a role in the Land Department. He successfully worked his way up the organization from there, holding the titles of Assistant Director of Community Development in February 1989, Assistant Vice President of Planning in April 1993, Vice President of Planning and Land Development in March 1996 and later Executive Vice President and Division Manager in June 2001.

In 2005, Shapell Homes celebrates its 50th year of building homes for families throughout California. Sargenti named to President’s Council

Morgan Hill- Gary Sargenti, a first vice president – financial consultant, recently was named to RBC Dain Rauscher’s President’s Council.

The President’s Council award annually recognizes employees for outstanding performance and professional growth, and demonstrating leadership in client service.

Financial consultants assist individual and corporate clients in selecting appropriate investments including stocks, taxable and tax-exempt bonds, options and mutual funds. They also assist clients with retirement plans and money management programs.

Coldwell Banker earns two Golden Hammers

Saratoga – Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northern California today announced it has earned two prestigious Golden Hammer awards for outstanding support of Habitat for Humanity, the international non-profit organization that helps low-income families build affordable housing. The company also unveiled plans to support construction projects in 2005.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northern California was honored by Habitat for Humanity for “Most Funds Raised” and “Most Hours Donated” among Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation affiliates worldwide. Last year, the local brokerage raised more than $300,000 and the company’s sales associates and staff volunteered more than 4,400 hours working on six Habitat for Humanity construction projects in Northern California. This is the sixth consecutive year Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northern California has earned the coveted Golden Hammer award.

The recipient Habitat chapters and projects are: Silicon Valley Habitat for Humanity, $50,000 towards construction of one of 11 units on Murphy Street in San Jose; Peninsula Habitat for Humanity, more than $57,000 towards construction of homes on Torres and Bernardino in Daly City; San Benito County Habitat for Humanity, more than $4,000 towards startup costs for this new Habitat affiliate; East Bay Habitat for Humanity, $30,000 towards construction of a Livermore home; Foothills Habitat for Humanity, $30,000 towards construction of a Rocklin home; Monterey Habitat for Humanity, $20,000 towards construction of a home on Palm Avenue in Marina; Mt. Diablo Habitat for Humanity, $20,000 towards construction of a home on Montague Avenue in Oakley; Nevada County Habitat for Humanity, $1,000 towards construction of a home in Grass Valley; San Francisco Habitat for Humanity, $45,000 towards construction of one of 12 units between De Long and Santa Cruz Streets in South San Francisco; and Sonoma County Habitat for Humanity, $35,000 towards construction of the Kali Subdivision in Santa Rosa.
