GILROY – The Gavilan men’s soccer team continues to improve, but finding the back of the net continues to be a different story.

On Friday, the Rams lost to visiting Skyline College 1-0 in Gilroy.

Gavilan is now 0-11-1 in the Coast Conference, 4-13-1 overall.

Skyline pocketed the game’s only goal about six minutes into the match, when the San Bruno school capitalized on an indirect penalty kick just outside the box.

“Surprisingly, Gavilan played really well (after that),” coach Albert Marques said. “We controlled for much of the game, we just couldn’t finish.

“We have been improving over the last couple of weeks, finally.”

The Rams, playing in the final week of their regular season, will visit Ohlone College on Tuesday at 3 p.m. Gavilan will then host Evergreen College on Friday at 3 p.m., in Gilroy to finish the season.
