Eugene (Gene) Dillon Whittle born to Winter and Myrle Whittle on Oct. 1, 1928 in Angels Camp, CA. Gene passed away at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, CA on Nov. 22, 2008.
A Korean and Vietnam Veteran, retiring from the Air Force in 1975. After basic training he was stationed in Texas, Mass., England, France, March AFB, Guam, Korea, and Delaware where he retired. He later moved to Hollister where he and his family resided for many years. In 2000 he and his wife moved to Modesto.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth Whittle of Ceres, his daughter, Shelly Soule of Colorado, four grandchildren and several neices and nephews. He is preceeded in death by his wife Merna.
He was a huge fan of the San Francisco Giants and the 49ers.
